Does this metriaclima msobo look like a female or a male in the early stages of morphing to blue? It’s about 2”

Looks male to me.
Sometimes old and dominant females can show some blue in the fins. But for a 2 inch fish the blue is too much for a female.

In fact, the fish is already showing black seams in its fins. It could be the photo, but the black is pretty far out on the fins, even for a male msobo...
I am curious how he will look in 2-3 month.

Thanks for the info, I’ll post updates on it in a couple months. I bought a group of 4 unsexed msobo and one is blue, two are yellow and then there was this one.

Male. But if there are other males in the tank he may just stay that way. IME one male/tank works best for this species. You don't want to save fry from this tank.

Thanks!
Don’t worry, nothing is leaving this tank. All the LFS here have mostly hybrids and are charging pure species prices which is part of the reason I buy online and I’m not gonna make it worse

Now that they’re settled in, I think they’re all males, oh well, still pretty
