What could be the best outdoor mud pond design for peacock bass?

Big as:
20 meters in length x 10 meters in width x 1 m in height.

Bakki tower or water change?
shade or sun?
would concrete be better?
paddlewheel
...

Let say you wuld prepare thepond for fingerlings, would you go:

Daphnia, bloodworms or glass shrimps, guppies?

Would adult tilapia chase the p bas fingelings?

Nature is your best answer. I suggest you google and read up on how to set up a pond that aquatic plants thrive, both floating and planted. That will give you all the key elements to sustain the fries. I don't think you can alter the pH, since it is a natural mud pond. You will have to work with what you get. Might be a good idea to have shallow areas to breed smaller crustaceans or feederfish and supplement with food regularly for the fingerlings. Denitrifying bacteria will establish naturally so you shouldn't worry about water change or nitrate build up. Bottomline; if the aquatic plants thrive, you are likely to be on the right track. Try feeder fish that breed like crazy and yet your fingerlings can use as energy source; tiger barbs, red shiner, etc

Thank you for these guys.

Rio you are right about vegetation, but you wont believe the number of dragonfly nymphs and rodents around here they may exterminate fingerlings ...
I want it neat, it s a kind of reaction to chaotic nature around .:)

Actually i do have 3 mud ponds of this size but one is leaking due to mango trees roots .
That pond i woulde raise my Brood stock in but i need to wall it first.
In an other pond i m thinking of raising glass shrimps.

Thought of doing raceways but now i think i ll make movable separations with pvc and thick netting .

Read that if you do spray/ broke water and expose it to the sun u.v. it does a lot to wash your water.
Water falling oxygenate it as well and if the weather is too hot i could install a fan toward the fall.
Controlling temperature is a key to many things...

In case of bakki shower making, what is the ratio recommanded?

I m studying your advice now, thank you.

In case of low oxygen and to activate microfauna would you use :
an air pump, a blower, a fountain, a shower, a paddlewheel aerator, etc??

What is the amount of troubled water (mud,leafs,grass...) allowed for peacock bass?
Like how many inches on a Secchi disk?

or any other way of measurement???

ure idea is very close to mine. but it will be costly..

for a natrual feeding system i would start with 4000 live guppies.. and heavy vegitation this should hide them and feed them. i would say sunlight to heat the pond a little more but it will drain soem water after a while make sure though your filteration is set. and keep ure pH manageable i hope these conditions wont burst ure wallet (prob will) but u know no price tag on being happy -unless its over 1million then ure down right crazsy- but what the hell?
