I may be getting a 29 gallon tank soon and would like to know if I could have a mud skipper with a green spotted puffer, I have seen it done but I am still a bit unsure about it, what do you guys think? Note I have also had a freshwater tank (also 29) for a year with no problems.

The prob with gsp is they are nippy and tolerate their own kind. Can try it but i think should be prepared to separate just in case.

Tbh the Mud Skipper be better for a Paludarium they need to come out of the water sometimes.

yeah that's what I was going to do but yeah I'm not sure it's worth the risk because I don't have another tank to separate them should they fight

Personally agree with kno4te kno4te stated. Happy to hear about the Paludarium setup.

Always a concern. There nipping is basically taking chunks out of fish that’s the problem.

The only option if ur set on a puffer is amazon puffers as they will tolerate tankamtes. Some won’t. Can slowly increase the water salinity slowly and acclimate. Not sure how they’d handle any salt and tankamtes. Maybe Fat Homer Fat Homer might lend some advice and info.

ok, I think I'll just go for something else, I might go to college soon and don't want a large puffer fish in the care of my parents who don't know how to care for them
