Can a three striped mud turtle go with a large and aggressive cichlid? Vieja Argentea to be specific. (Sorry, I know this sounds very stupid....)

You always run the risk of having a fish killed or maimed when you mix them with turtles but Mud's can hold their own against larger cichlid species. It's the small ones like convicts that can be a problem. I had to move a female convict from my one tank that houses a Red-cheeked Mud Turtle because she started to bite at the turtles eyes.
