Is anyone aware of a successful paludarium housing SA/CA's and mudskippers? I was thinking of trying it in my 90g tank, draining the water 4-5 inches below the top and, attaching a suitable platform above water for the mudskipper(s).

Just wondering if the fish would try to snack on the skippers.

I have considered this, using the brackish water cichlid Etroplus suratensus, archers, scats and monos .

The suratensus are also basically vegetarian, and get too large to be swallowed.
The Milwaukee zoo had a display like this (minus the cichlid) with simulated mangrove roots, it was beautiful and very interesting.
I believe in a shallow water tank it would work with the African soda lake cichlid Alcolapia alcalicus, as it is quick, peaceful, lives in shallow water, and can tolerate just about any salinity concentration.
