My eheim is making a humming noise...I wish I had a wooden stand to cover it but I don't =[ Is it possible to cover it with something to muffle the sound?

WHY is your eheim making noise? Is it just the standard operating noise or has it gotten noisier? I prefer fluval, but eheims are probably the least noisy filter I've ever used.

get a fx-5

My FX5 has been doing this a bit. One of the fasteners is broken so a little air is getting in. I just put a towel over it and then tipped it to get the air out. Worked perfectly.

I always keep a towel over my FX5 just to dampen the impeller sound.

I didn't have a towel around or any spare clothes so I sacrificed my hoodie

My Rena xp2 is virtually silent, but is also sitting on a block of styrofoam so this I think is a good idea.
