I have two beautiful long finned, albino, bristlenose plecos. Will a discus tank temperature of 86 degrees hurt them or shorten their life span??

I have heard it's a bad idea to keep a Panaque nigrolineatus with discus because they attach to their sides. Opinions?

Finally I have a rhino that is in QT at the moment and I'd kind of like to put him there too. (Discus tank 86 degrees)

I do not however want all of these at the same time. I have five other fresh water tanks (and other plecos). I am at an impasse. I am asking your suggestions to help me make up my mind lol.

When husbandry is looked up most L numbered cats tend to have an upper range of 82 degrees listed but I also know that this is broken all the time.

Thanks for any thoughts/advice. I'll check back periodically.

I can't answer all your questions. But, I keep 3 BN with my discus at 86 and they are active, healthy and growing like weeds. I've only had them in this tank for 7 months, so I don't know about the total effect on life span. I have heard it can shorten it some.

Not sure about the temp issue. My only concern about the panaque nigrolineatus would be the amount of waste they create. I dont own discus but I hear they are fairly delicate when it comes to water quality. I have a 4.5 inch royal and he makes CRAZY amounts of waste and they can grow to 18"+.

as for the royal pleco goes i have one but no discus. he don't mess with any of my fish. really cool pleco btw. he dont stay as hidden as the others do it seems.
