Multi-tank filtration

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knew some methods of connecting a 10gallon tank to a 55g. I'm looking to set up a seperate tank on the side, using the same filtration so that I can grow plants and raise fry in there without needing another heater (I have readily available air pumping for sponge filters,etc). If anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

The down side off multi tank filters are a disease issue, if one tank has another then the other will also.

Your looking at a sump based system that can handle both tanks.

Question time

How far apart are the tanks?
Are they drilled?
Current filtration on each?
