i guess you would call it a rack... the past couple weeks been working on a dual 55 gal stand conjoined with a dual 10 gal stand. The 10 gal stand also has small cubbyhole, You know us fish people got to have more space to put more stuff in! The whole thing so far is an ongoing project but arent all of our tanks?
it was built out of 2x4's and 1/4" plywood; used 3 1/2" deck screws (main structure), 2 1/2" drywall scews (flooring and upright braces), and some brad nails (for the sheeting). When its all said and done estimating around a ton of weight. This being said i ripped up the floor boards, set some posts in concrete in the crawlspace, and basically built the begining of the stand into the floor joists. the stand was built by building boxes for the shlves and securing them to a main upright followed by upright bracing between the levels. the stands are conjoined via 5 1/2" 5/16" lag bolts. You will see in some pics that some of the stand is painted black... lets jus say do not buy cans of spray paint to paint your stand not cost or time effective at all! Ended up using a cheap flat black latex from walmart (looks better than spray paint too!)
yada yada yada. anyways to what you all been waiting for pix!
