Anyone have some pictures of multi tank stands. I have 15 20 gallon that came from a store that changed their fish room and I want to stack them and sump them. The tanks are ready I just have to built a stand and put them long ways 3 high. What do you all think?

Thanks

i think that is a great idea! it would be one stop area to clean. it be a two and one. I'm going to get 2 180gallon tanks and stack them on top of each other on one stand. (easeir to clean... and beautiful to the eyes:naughty: !

Sounds ambitious, be sure to post pics!

Either all 2x4's with verticals doubled up or 4x4 uprights notched to accept the horizonal 2x4's. One vertical between each tank and some diagonal cross-bracing should do it. Can you anchor it to a wall? Sheeting it with plywood would be benificial too, but with proper bracing, not necessary.

Have you looked at some of the fish suppliers? Some show pictures of their stock and breeding tanks and even shipping areas. Somethimes you can glean alot of info from the pictures. Check some lfs's too.

Do you have a room long enough for this?

Good Luck,

Dr Joe

Nice stand! I saw on craigslist someone was selling scores of predrilled 20 gallon tanks for pennies on the dollar. Anyone here get some?

I'll see if I can find the thread with my sump and wet/dry.

I plan on building something like that when I move into my new house soon. I always find myseld buying cheap tanks every time I come across some, like every week. I have 9-10 empty tanks in storage. The only thing with that design is I would be afraid of sagging in the middle and hiding all the dangling heater, filter, and light cords. It does look nice with the dark stain. I plan on painting the backs of my tanks all black it has a cleaner look not to mention brings much focus on the fish! Best of luck and take lots of pics!
