I already have a common anemone, I was looking to get a long tentacled anemone. Can I keep more than one type of anemone in the same tank? Its a 45 gallon tank.

What's a common anemone? It is best to keep them as specie only, as nems can produce chemical warfare. How large is your tank?

Its 45 gallon. It was labled as a common anemone.

You might want to look into what you've really got there.

It'd be best to just keep one in a 45.

Here is the "common" anenome. The tips of the tentacles are purple.

My guess is a condi. Not compatible with other nems or clowns. Stinger!

I'd say condy too. It's ether that or a Haitian.

I have a 45g reef as well WITH 2 anenomes. One is a crispa, good for clowns. The other is a tube anenome which is a carnivore. I put one on either end of the tank because they will fight. Luckily their movement has been minimal. The tube sticks in the sand and the crispa is mounted to the rocks. Hopefully they'll never meet in the middle. Your picture looks like a soft coral to me? Like a Dura or a Sinularia, not like an anenome. Well, maybe a little like an unhealthy atlantic carpet??
