I started keeping datnoids again for the first time in 15 years. My datnoids in the past never had any issues until I just started keeping them. I had three species (NGT, IT, NTT) and it seems like all are not doing good except for the 9" NGT. Last year I noticed my smaller NTT started flashing. I treated for ich and worms and nothing worked. Slowly they started dying off. Eventually what ever they had spread to my 3" IT. I put the IT in its own quarantine tank and treated for ich and all sorts of parasites again. Nothing worked and that IT unfortunately slowly died. It probably took over 2 months for it to die after being placed in the quarantine tank. Now my smallest IT that is about 1.5" is starting to show the same signs and flashing. It is away from any other dats in a 75 gallon grow out with some sb tinfoil barbs and two plecos. I am now having to treat the whole tank. This is not affecting any other fish besides the datnoids. I feel like my datnoids that are 6"+ are doing fine. I have heard in the past that dats 5" and smaller are prone to sudden death syndrom. Anyone ever experience this? I have checked all water perameters and they are good in my tanks with dats. If the small IT does not make it I am seriously going send it in for a necropsy to figure out what is going on. I was looking to get a ST but with all this happening I am not willing to take the chances.
