I posted this over at Aquaria Central. I don't know if this is considered double posting. If so, I truly apologize!

Is it possible (or safe) to keep an Electric Blue and a Regular JD in the same aquarium? It's a standard size 125 gallon with rockwork and sand substrate. What about the addition of a Gold Severum and/or Blue Acara and/or Flier (Archocentrus centrarchus)?

Thanks a bunch!!!

How big are they and what are thierr sexes?Id want them to be opposite sex with the eb bigger than the regular

I think it will work out ok

but if you so happen to get a couple pairs out of it and they start to brred I think it could get a little crazy, but still I say go for it
:D

Both are right at 4.5 inches. I won't be able pick or see the EBJD before I get it, so I'm not sure of the sex. I'm pretty sure the regular JD is a female, but it's still at the LFS, so I'd have to confirm that before purchase.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone! This will be my first large cichlid setup and I'm looking to do it right. Up until now it's been all Angels and Rams for me.

should work ok jack dempsy's might breed thow and that could cause truble

well, all of my first JDs turned out to be female, but i ended up with a few males more recently from a trade-in, and the males never fight.
