I am looking at putting 2 giant gouramis in a predator tank.

the tank is a 1200 litre tank
its big
has anyone done this?
is this recommended?
i would love to have two of these gorgeous funny fish in a tank together

im no expert but im gona say i dont think it will work.the temperment of GG's i cant see allowing it and the size of the tank also if im correct it being something like 300gal.

It can work but there is always a little chasing and nipping that's going to happen. The hardest part would be to find two GG's that will tolerate each other when they get over 30cm which you might have to find since your putting them in a predator tank and I'm guessing the other fish are fairly sizable. I have a pair of RTGG's that I have raised from 5cm fish to their current 40cm length which were raised in a tank similar in volume as yours. I did start out with 5 in the beginning and as they got bigger this pair wouldn't tolerate the others so they were moved.

I had 1 Albino GG, 2 RT GG, 1 Grey GG all in a 180, everyone was great but the Albino, that was his tank and he let the other fish know about it, when they knew about it, I knew about it, because they were so big, they would sometime bust thru the lid and onto the ground. Thank god they are air breathers, otherwise ID have a few dead GG. I got rid of them after a year.
