Has anyone kept multiple Lacerdae together? I'm considering buying a few more, but don't want the suprise of ending up with only one. They will be together from very small size. Any exp. with this? I have to decide as I am also planning a large group of Dorado's for another system......

Thanks,
Chris

i think ive seen it done before.
but only once.
i think it also depends on the variants as some can be VERY aggressive and some are placid.
ive only done this with malas on several occasions, all worked out fine.

Not a good idea, our first collection location we caught 30 @ 2-3" lacerdae and put them in a 40 gallon tank, we then went up north for 8 days, when we got back there were 9 left and they had grown to 3-4", They ate 21 other fish all about the same size! Ken

yea thats true...
canabalistic little guys...
but they get less canabalistic as they grow i think.

I have noticed a severe difference in attitudes between my 2. I would not consider putting them together now that I have seen how aggresive the one is.

Ken,

This guy was trying to hit guppies through the packing bag. I set the bag in the tank to temp. acclimate and he was going nuts trying to get to the feeders..... He caught one within 5 minutes of being in the tank.

My other Lacerdae has not shown this yet. While he is larger and eating more than the newest one, he seems more laid back, not crazy like this one.
