I have 2 large pleco. I believe one is a sailfin (13") and one is a common paradalis (16").

They have never lived together, and have never met.

The paradalis is currently in a swimming pool in my back yard awaiting the completion of the 450 he's about to move into (along with a pair of pacu, an oscar and a raphael cat.)

Currently the sail fin lives in a 125 that will get upgraded to a 180 within the month. The 125 is a hodge podge mix of different origins, but I really want to make it an African tank. That means the big old pleco needs to move out.

Can I put the two pleco's together in the 450 or are they too territorial for that? I can have an African tank with a pleco in it.... I just would rather not. I love my all South American tank and was hoping to also have an all Congo/ Nile tank.

No one has 2 large plecos together?

i have 2 full grown L001 together in a 180. the bigger one chases the other around but nothing serious. I dont see you having a problem with it in a tank as big as yours.

Thank you. I am glad to hear from someone.

I dont have those species but I have a 15" L25 and 12" L14 and several other big plecos. If you give them multiple spaces with driftwood and or rocks, they will should be fine, especially in a 450!
