i've been looking into this and a lot of people say it doesn't work. are they just too aggressive towards each other? anyone able to pull it off without any problems? i have what i think is a sveni and i've been eying up a orange pike, xingu I, at my LFS or even another sveni for my 125g community.

usually doesnt work. id say better chance of it working if they grow up together in the same tank. but just putting two full grown pikes together. usually doesnt work out well.

some members have done it successfully. i guess it all depends on the pike. id say u can give it a try but make sure to have a seperator or another tank if it doesnt work out. u should know right away. they'll do what i like to call the "war dance"

Having 2-3 can be a problem, 5-6 spread the aggression out. I have 4 saxatalis that live togeher peacefully, 4 celidochilus and 4 minuano that do also, most of my pairs I have to divide occationally when one gets the upper hand. Keeping them with other cichids also works. Ken

i have 11 rite now in a 90 cause i give 75 away and tring to get 180 as we speak

i guess also make sure there are some other fish in there. many cichlids work well and SDs are usually good to.

to keep the peace alittle i put a couple decent size fish in there so niether pike can feel like its his tank

they would be in the 125g with the stock listed in my sig. so there is quite a few fish in there. most are smaller since i just got them but will be decent sized when full grown
