Well the wife vetoed the 250G tank for a chain pickerel. So that being said I guess im staying with the smalled esox species. Do guys think a 75G would be sufficient for 2-3 redfins? All the same size obviously. Also what is everyones experianxe with keeping multiple redfins together?

I've never kept them but I think that would be sufficient. Actually I've never kept any pikes (or natives for that matter) but my knnowledge and interest in them comes from avidly diving with them. Pike in my diving experience are more loner fish that don't move much unless to stalk prey so I'd maybe set up some natural boundaries in the tank depending on how many you have.

Ok getting this plus a ten gallon tank with ilter lighter and little heater for my daughter. The bellow is just copy pasted from the Craigslist add.

*75 gallon salt water full set up aquarium with wood stand glass lids and t5 ho lights with one acintic blue bulb in each fixture and a sunlight type white bulb in each fixture also.

This tank is in good shape and has two power filters one is a whisper 60 gallon and the other is an emporer 400 bio wheel power filter.
It has a 300 whatt marineland lifetime heater.
it also has a wave current power head.
it has blue sand with marine live sand underneath.

Paying 250. I think its a a pretty good deal. What do you think Dive? Yeah I think so long as they are the same size and well fed shouldnt be any issues.

Just got paid today! Going to pixk it up this weekend and get it planted for the new arrivals whenever I purchase them lol. Thanks for the final push dive!

I have three Grass Pickerel which are extremely close to the redfin in a 65G and have not had any serious issues with them.

From my experience the major difference of the Grass Pickerel from the Redfins that I kept is that they have better control of their voracious appetites.

Every redfin pickerel that I kept died from attempting to swallow prey too large for them to eat. I have not experienced this in the dozen Grass pickerel that I keep. The quicker that you can get the Pickerel to take chunks of fish/ aquatic meat the better. While Pickerel should ideally eat every day, it is unwise to overload the tank with feeders as you would YOY gar. They are prone to over eat themselves to death.

Yeah I dont over feed the one I have. He seems fine with having a few feeders a day. He doesnt generally eat more than he can consume. I left for a long weekend and loaded about 8 feedwrs for him. Came home and there were still two left. Generally I feed him two a day. Never putting anything more than 1 in his tank at a time. I have a completely separate tank that I store my feeders in. Good to know my 75 can handle three.

uuurgh i want one but all we have in the uk is monster northerns!

Yeah, its actually hard to get Redins anytime of the ywar other than now here. I think im going to pick up three more bring my total to four. I always did like even numbers lol.
