Maybe I’m crazy. Maybe I’m just excited about getting back into fish keeping I haven’t gotten my first tank cycled and running and I already have plans for at least 3 more tanks swimming around in my head. In my previous fish keeping life I had 7 tanks up and well established. This time if things go well I’m going to have 2 super tanks ( super for me anyway).

Am I the only one who does this?

No, you're in good company, we're all crackers here. Unfortunately for me I have a wife and wives are very much a proven antidote against MTS, lol.

Definitely amongst friends here. I am in a constant state of tank flux--tanks being sold, rebuilt, replaced, restocked...its part of the hobby for me. I generally keep 3-4 running at all times, any more and I start to really notice it on the power bill. Perhaps at an older age when I have learned sufficiently enough about tanks and fish I will equalize on a set number of (large) tanks, but for now, its constant organized chaos.

I'd say I have MTS too. Currently have about 7 tanks up and got plenty more just waiting to be set up again. In total I'll have about 14 tanks up and running by the end of the year.... Hopefully... Lol. Still trying to sort out my old fish room and moving it into the new one, basically taking em out of the garage and moving em into a basement room. Figured it would be much easier to just heat up one room rather then an entire garage. Only problem is is that the basement room used to be a storage room, so still trying to move allot of that stuff out while also bringing new stuff in. Slow going, least to say, when ya work 8 hours a day 5 days a week and having to work on tank maintenance and other animals needs.

I enjoy the hobby much more now that I am consciously forcing myself not to get carried away and overdo the number of tanks I keep. Several times in the past I kept adding tanks and fish until suddenly realizing that the pleasure had turned into a chore. If it stops being fun...why bother?

Right now I have 6 permanent tanks set up, plus a couple of holding tanks in the basement that house my outdoor fish until the weather warms up enough to bring them back outside, plus a couple of quarantine tanks and fry grow-outs. Every time I formulate plans for more, I force myself to close down an existing set-up before opening a new one. I concentrate more on improving the ease of maintenance, water changes, etc. on my existing tanks rather than accumulating more.

And it's still fun! :)

So I guess MTS is like alcoholism, gambling or other addictions; you can be on the wagon...but you're never completely cured!

Fortunately for me I am unsupervised and not vaccinated from my previous situation.

They help with malaysian trumpet snails?

Oh wait I forgot we are talking about the other mts! I thought for a minute maybe I should have kept her....
Oh my quote of esoxlucius esoxlucius failed....

I'd have soooo much more done if I only worked 40hrs a week. Or only 5 days, life goals! Lol jk.
