One Pbass died last week. There's 10 of them in a 230 tank. They've all been doing fine until the "alpha male" decided to flex its muscle.
It started going around biting and bumping the others. It was at this point it set its eyes on a bigger Pbass.I didn't see it myself but the harassed Pbass reportedly went berserk hitting its head on the glass cover.
It started swimming erratically and would sometimes go 90 with its head in the sand. It's color changed but no bleeding wounds.I transferred it to another tank where it started swimming erratically, acrobatically and bizarrely. It scraped its chin on the blck gravel and started shredding itself. It breathed heavily and was just very disoriented.
I took pity on it and decided to end its misery. On its side, breathing heavily, not eating for 3 days, gone blind severly scarred and shredded I took it and sent it to fish heaven.
The 230 tank has gone quiet since.Alpha male still patrols the tank and nips at the others. The point of getting crowded has started.I need to break them up I think.
