Im starting up my tank again and I had a thought for a combination and I wanted to see how people thought it might work out. I love bass/groupers so I thought a close second to one would be a Murray Cod if available and I wanted to know if it could work out living with one of the hoplias species such as a Lacercde, a Malabaricus, Curupira, or an Aimara. I don't care much for color in my tank just action! Please give me some reaction here people.

I think the Murray would eventually eat the wolf.....

Nice taste in fish, in any case :)

Been ages i haven't seen one.

A couple of aussies in here had giant ones. Grouper sized.

A bit far from me. Don't know about North Attleboro :)

Fleshy here on the forums has one. He should be a wealth of knowledge on the husbandry and captive growth rates of Murray cod.

We had a murray in the shop that was thicker then a rugby ball and easily 3ft plus. no clue on its age though..

I have seen monsters here and there... theres a good youtube video on them & other aussie natives one guy kept one in a 12x4x4 from memory and this thing was huge.

I spoke to one guy about them not long ago and he told me with the right food they are very easy to get 2ft + in under a year. how true this is I dont know but it wouldn't surprise me. Have been meaning to setup a native tank after seeing the large murray at the fish shop.

One word of advice though from past experience with my one.... cover the tank / pond with thick glass, they do jump and have an awful lot of force.
