Woooie!!! I got a really young Murray Cod today, already I can tell he's goona be a tough little bastard 8D Anyone own a Murray cod and got some tips for me?

Hey mate, congrats on the pick up.
What is your current setup e.g. tank size and other fish?
The basics of Murray Cod are pretty simple.
They are slow growers mainly and when young can be kept with other fish, but once they get older and bigger they will kill any other tankmates. (They will take on fish 3x bigger then them)
Make sure you get them on pellets because feeding them feeders is too expensive, mine will eat 20 feeders and still munch down half a box of pellets.
They have great personalities and become very interactive with their owner, I can pet mine and even pick him up.
I prolly missed quite a bit there but some others will be able to fill you in

Cheers mate, thanks for the info. I'm gonna buy a 3 foot tank for him for starters, I figure that'll do him for a bit. I have him in a smaller tank at the moment, but it's only for like 2 weeks at max. I originally was gonna put him in with me young Barras and silver perch, but it turned out he was a bit of a tuff little bugger, so I had to take him out, lol.

He's the pond boss now, lol. Does he still come up to you for you to feed him and touch him and stuff, even though he's in the pond?

Yeah he does sometimes, but most the time he will come up to you and dart off as if to say "look how fast I am" then come straight back to you.
