I'm at my cottage, and there's quite a few at the beach, and I was wondering If I could feed some to my cichlids?

eat them yoself, well tasty :)

if you boil them they will lose most of their nutritional value. If they are SW I would shell and chop them up for the fish no problem, as the probablility of a cold SW parasites takeing hold in a tropical FW host are not impossiable but are very unlikely. The SW side of the hobby frequently uses FW dips and or hyposalinity to treat a number of SW diseases and parasites. Food from a FW sourse however could varey likely carry somthing transmissible to a FW host and I would not risk it.
