thanks bro. he got some black marks in his forehead and on above of his lips. worried if those are scars but upon checking his forehead does'nt have any scratches.

It might still fade more, which is why ilove this kind of flowerhorn. One day with black spots and marking, next few months its fading then become red and the gold was coming out.

you mean the black markings on my fish is because of fading? when i got him he is already fully faded. then after a couple of days the black markings started to come out.

In my experience, the fading is like a cycle for them so the color still vary on age, stress, mating and food.
