this weekend i went to pick up a 125g complete setup. after driving for 2 hours, loading everything in my van, i noticed the botttom of the stand was wet. after some checking i couldnt really find where, or if there was a leak. so to make a long story short, we worked out a deal and for $100 i got the following. sorry hopefully i will get some pics up
125g tank, oak stand, oak canopy
55g, 2 sets of hoods, some dinky filter
rena xp3, ac110 and 2 different types of heaters
about 150lbs of gravel substrate
for $100 i felt that i couldnt go wrong. im taking the stand to my uncle's wood working shop and gonna let him go over it and probably replace some of the wet peices just to be safe. the tank is at my mom's garage ( i have no where for it yet) filled with a few inches of water in the bottom and so far no leaks. im not sure but i think the leak may be at the top of the tank somewhere. he said he had flowerhorns and they couldve splashed the water out or had a leak in the filter, but to be sure im going over the whole thing.
so, i never had to seal or even look for a leak in a tank. does anyone have any suggestions, other than the obvious, fill it up with water and look for leaks. thanks for your help
i forgot to mention that the 125 has the predrilled holese in each corner of the tank that have been patched
