I have had this guy for 13 years . He is 13" . He has to be the most curious fish I have ever had . He investigates everything .

Here he is showing his normal attitude towards the world . I have to watch him when cleaning the tank . He will do a hit and run over and over .

Nice fish! I have a 2 year old midas - I wonder how large he'll be when he is 13 years old, he's 12.5" TL now.
 
It is always cool to see someone able to keep a fish for an extended length of time. You must be doing something right, cause that is a beautiful fish. It doesn't look a day over 3.
 
wow.. his color is great! I agree with the JD_Man. It does not look old at all.
 
I have had them up to 15 years......I have one now that's 5 years old and right at 15 inches long....I have about 20 total from 1 year old up to 9 years old....I'm not sure of what a "norm" is for life expectency.....yours is a beaut....this is my 5 year old and the largest I've ever owned.....wish I could get him to breed but so far he's too mean...
