hello all. I'm new to this forum and i wanted to share my project with all of you. My tank is a 135 i have had for a while now, it used to have my Oscars in it but they have been gone for years now, lost em in a move. anyway i finally decided to get this tank back up and running as a Malawi tank. i have been working on this for months now. i went all the way back to square one after i almost had a blow out when i lost my center support. but i rebuilt the tank and here's where i am so far. i still need to do rock and lighting an advice on these would be greatly appreciated. i have never done a tank to this level and i am hooked i love it my wife is already planning our next tank.
this is where i am right now. custom stand and hood built buy my father in law
and this is how i got there
behind the tank plumbing the one on the left is for a second pump down the road if needed
under the tank plumbing with an Fx5 just one... for now
hose bib plumbed in to the out line from the pump... takes the mess outa filling and draining... I'm on a nonchlorinated water supply so its just hook up and fill.
tank in place with "egg crate" in place
150lbs of filter sand. got another 50 if i need it... and yes i will move it so i can set the rocks down on the egg crate
mounting the spraybar it has 15 1/4" holes and it flows great
tank plumbing done
Ready to start filling
filling through the spraybar
full and running
DONE... just cap the hose and roll it up under the tank
More pics to come any and all input is welcome so let me know what you think
