my 1st cichla

this is my 1st cichla..a mono i presume?
Bought it 2 weeks ago.it is 4inches and in my 50gallon to let it grow before transferring it to my pond along with my other monsters(don't want it to be outfed or eaten by the gator gar or rtc.hehe!)
i am feeding it with live guppies and culled bettas or fh fry,all of which i breed my own.hehe!
Any comments/suggestion?please do..
And can anyone please confirm if it's really a mono?

Okay I'm more confident with my ID. The gold diamond shapes on each bar make me say orino.

wow!really?i was not expecting it to be an orino.thought it was a mono.LFS didn't know what they were,it was just tagged as cichla.it would be great if it's really an orino!
