The pic was taken in the fish shop with my camera phone. My intent was to post this thread before buying so that I could get some feedback but......?
Anyway, I paid $175 and he's about 7" in diameter. OK price or no? What do you think?

price is pretty good for an LFS, geet some food in him he looks kinda skinny

I'm working on it. On average, how long after being introduced into a new tank until they accept food. 'She' inhaled a dozen rosies in the store right before they bagged her up for me so I know that she has been eating. I just want to get a general idea so that I can monitor her behavior. Hours? Days?

depending on size, but a 6in regular motoro will go for $200-$250 by me at a LFS

several forum members are selling newborn pups at 5in for $100-$125. After you factor in shipping, the $175 you paid is not too bad.

Quick update: she's eating bloodworms but won't accept chopped nightcrawlers. Very responsive which is a good sign.
One problem;
She's in a 15 gallon!!! My intent was to put her in my 65 sump(actually 2nd tier between main tank and sump) until I construct a 5.5'x3.5'x1.5' "pond" that would replace my sump and fit underneath the stand of my main tank(whole 'nother thread, I know). When I went to remove the occupants of the 65, I notice that my pair of Gold Suam had spawned and the female was guarding the wrigglers (how could I have missed that?) Will my ray be okay in the 15gal until the fry are swimming and ready to be syphoned off and separated from the parents( a week or two) or do I do away with the brood and move the ray now? Any other suggestions?
