Was at the local LFS and noticed this guy all by his/her self hiding up in a corner of a tank.He is tiny about an inch,so i dont know what kind he is yet,my question is at this small size what will this fish eat,and how can i make it more comfortable? What water temp does this fish prefer??Thanks for any help!!:naughty:

you could feed him bloodworms and maybe flakes?
he may be wild collected, and may just still be acclimating. don't make any sudden moves and keep it quiet and dark until he starts becoming a bit more bold.
not sure on the temp, a normal range of 74-78 should do.

High temps and lots of O2 for young cichla! 84 minimum! Blood worms, black worms, and feeder guppies!

Young cichla like to hide... just have a little cover in the tank for him... Good luck!

If you get some more, it'll become more bolder. Any frozen worms and feeder guppies or livebearer fries will be good eating for it.

Just bought 6 guppies, they were gone in like a minute.Since he has eaten he seems to have become a bit bolder. He is now investagating his tank and checking out all the caves.I am going to fatten up this guy, then try to get him to eat something else.

6 guppies are like nothing to young cichla! lol Get him a lot more and he should do well... good luck with 'em! :)

i feed my baby pbass rosie minnows, blood worms, ghosst shrimp and krill (which they dont usaully eat)

Young cichla can be tough at times... better luck next time...
