there was 4 in total $29.99 each all labeled as black piranha's..I took the first one cause he looked a little different then my first rhom hoping to be a diamond cause i want a diamond and a reg black and i think my first rhom i bought in feb/11 is a reg black...and i took the second one which my daughter was teasing in the fish store and he/she was following her movements really finger chasing...but not anymore..just trying to get in ID on the second one but i think they might be to small to identify....

See if you can take a large clear picture of the scutes area? sanchezi has irregular arrangement.

also try to take picture without flash so can see the spots better, compressus will have barring spots. might be hard to tell apart now but as time will tell.
how big are these guys? mine still shows no color on anal fins but its still darn small so who knows.

depends on what size/age these guys are. S. compressus will have bar/stripes as it matures, but all Serrasalmus species have spots as some point or another. 1st one I'd say is pretty clearly S. rhombeus. 2nd one mmm... hard to tell. Looks a lot like a comp...could be anything though.

I'm a little rusty too. Might check on P-fury.
