OK GUYS I HAVE A 135 GAL FISH TANK WITH SOME BALA SHARKS TINFOIL SHARKS AND SOME CICHLID BUT I HAVE ALWAYS KEPT 2 BOTIAS AND THEY HAVE NEVER FOUGHT BUT NOW THEY ARE ALL BEAT UP AND THEY DONT STOP CHASING THEMSELVES AROUND WHATS THE DEAL IT ALL STARTED WHEN I REMOVED A ROCK WERE ONE WOULD ALWAYS BE HIDING BACK THERE .WHAT TO DO IF I BUY 3 MORE WOULD THEY STOP FIGHTING THEY ARE ALL BANGED UP ALREADY I ADDED A LITTLE BIT OF SALT BUT NOT TOO MUCH CAUSE I KNOW THERE SENSITIVE FISH.AND I DONT WANT TO PUT THAT ROK BAK IN THE TANK IT TAKES TOO MUCH SPACE

Put the rock back or live with the fighting!

id get three more they would be happy with mates and add a few smaller rocks for hidey holes

You didn't need to add salt. Just add more hiding places and loaches. They do get nasty and I have 9 in my own tank but never had serious clashes resulting in severe injuries except on one occasion where one challenged two of his company at the same time. They do have plenty of hiding places but they also establish their ranking orders.

i was thinking about going to the lps and buying 3 red tail botias and maybe 4 clown loahes to help with the fighting

id just get more of the same species and add some more rocks

Just stick with one species and forget the clowns. Your particular choice is extremely nasty to begin with and clowns may not bear their brunt.

oh ok so stick with the same species will do thanks
i wanted a clown doh

I've got both in my 180 , along with yo yos with no issues...4 redatils, 2 yoyo's and 13 cl's......lots of ground cover and hiding spots.....

From what I've seen, the modestas will fight unless you have upwards of a dozen. They still fight, but the aggression is distributed.
