Set this tank up ages ago, its been Brackish for about 2 weeks now.

x1 GSP
x1 sailfin molly

Originally I had the puffer, and I wanted to get him a tankmate to keep him from being bored, and to see if he plays well with tankmates. Turns out he is extremely well behaved (and well fed) the molly does a great job of eating algae too.

hard to take a piture of the whole tank cause its on the floor, but hopefully you can see that there is tonnes of rocky outcrops, fake plants and some driftwood to keep the puffer from glass surfing

I like your tank setup, most tank mates that are introduced at a young age for puffers will be tolerated until they hit sexual maturity and become more aggressive. My one suggestion would be to have more decor in there for the gsp to explore and have more lines of broken sight, puffers are smart and inquisitive in nature so they need more stuff to look at to keep them busy or else they will just glass surf.


You may know this already but 50% wc's are needed a week for tanks that have puffers.

Yeah I know they require a lot of maintenance. I have a filter thats almost double the capacity for the tank which helps a lot. The fish will be going into a 225 gallon when I get it set up
