I thought it might be fun to do a thread to track the progress of my 210 over time.

The tank is 7'X2'X2' and the filtration is a Hiatt system (two torpedo canisters filled with 20 lbs of Hiatt's Tribase Carbon).

Today I got it plumbed up, added black sand, added some great African root I was lucky to get for only $150, and added water. Still need to stain the canopy and get the lighting situated. It's still just a little cloudy from the sand.

I just picked up 4 Pike cichlids today (lenticulata) that will go in it once it's ready. Hopefully I'll get a pair out of the group. I also have a bocourti, managuense, two dats and two ornate bichirs that will go in it once they grow up a little.

I haven't decided what else. Thinking about trying a couple cichla and I would like some type of catfish but haven't decided what kind.

For cichla go either orino's or kelberi...and a tig would also look great for a catfish.

Added 4 dozen rosie reds today. The tank should be cycled since I used some media from another tank but my heater doesn't get here till Friday so I'll wait to add the Lents until then.

The lents are eating mysis well so that's good. Funny, I had kept the qt cycled with a couple of feeder goldfish so when I showed the lents to my wife she asked so where did you put the goldfish? Ummm, in the pond honey. Anyway, you can tell they will be happy to get out of qt...
