Looks like these two are going to spawn soon, and they are preparing their little cave. The female isn't coming out much, so she may already have laid eggs. Its been difficult to get any pics of her.

I love HRP they look good how old are they?

I'm not quite sure, but I think they are full grown. I bought the male recently and I've had the female for a few years now. I just put the male in w/ the female and got a pair. They are that simple to breed.

You look like you have a bit of an algae break out there.

Very nice fish though.

Thanks. This tank was by a window, and has algae on the sides, but the bottom is covered in java moss. I guess you could say I have a java moss out break too :)

Very nice and blue. How aggressive are these guys? Could hey hang in a community with other CA fish?

Thanks. They are aggressive, but can't hang w/ larger CAs and SAs. They are technically dwarf cichlids and rarely grow bigger then 3''. They form strong bonds, and are great parents much like convicts. Unlike convicts they are spawners. They are very interesting to watch and have a lot of attitude for such a small fish. A planted 20g is perfect for a pair of these guys, because they don't dig up plants.
