Hmm.. your sig states he is in a 56 gallon is that correct? if so that tank is a lil overstocked and may be a good reason he isnt coming out. generally fish will feel more comfortable in larger tanks. and with the stock in that tank im surprised there hasn't been alot of banging on eachother. I know from expirience that when i move my fish into larger tanks they are always more social than in the smaller tanks. unless housed alone. my 5" dovii is in a 55 temporarily and he seems sensitive to movement outside his tank and hides a lil. when i stop moving or during feeding time he's all over the place.
When I look at the tank from the other side of the room he is all over... or if I sit near the tank for a little while he will come out until I move too much or too fast.
I know the tank is a bit too crowded, but they are still small and I'm looking for a 75g or 90g to place some of them in. I will only use the 56g as a grow out for my small cichlids... i think.
