Hi everyone my names Travis I'm new here to mfk I'm looking for some friendly advice and thoughts on my nnew adventure I just recently purchased a 300gall marine land tank I have installed 2-fx5 filters , 6 bulb t-5 lighting , dual titanium heaters ... Uv light coming soon .. So I'm looking for advice on what what be some good tank ideas by that I mean maybe a certain group of fish that are native to each other and are all really cool , ideas for substrate and setup , this is my biggest tank to date I just want it to look awesome .

Not even a group that is native to each other but any different combos of fish you think of cichlids included

Welcome to MFK! With a 300 there is lots and lots of possibilities for stocking. It would help if we knew the dimensions of the tank

6ftx3ftx27"tall, and I'm not quite sure my first thought was a tank with all larger cichlids but I need to broaden my horizons maybe and try something with like maybe some arowana, p bass but I'm open to options tank scenarios etc .

I currently have a 72 gall mostly Malawi peacocks , a 165g with 2 large oscars , 1 large indo dat , one medium jaguar and a red devil btw..

Those are great dimensions so there are a lot of different options. For the bottom I would have a giraffe nosed catfish. Very active and great personalities and they keep the bottom spotless. Grow to about 24-28" in captivity so the tank would be good for life. You could do a silver arowana for the top level. It will eventually need at least a 4' depth but that's probably 2 years away. For the middle level you have a lot of choices. You could keep a school of some form of silver dollars. They're very active and the silver looks great imo. You could keep datnoids, maybe 1 of each species.

Also forgot to mention maybe some sort of geophagus for the mid to bottom. Perhaps instead of a catfish you could easily put a couple
Of rays in that tank too

Rays and cats were both on my mind , there is a beautiful black arowana for sale right now 2 he's about 16inch
