I'm finally making some progress on getting it set up. The tank is going into a house that I am completely remodeling. We hope to be moved in by June. The floors finally have been refinished so I have finally gotten around to setting the base and stand in place.

You will notice a gap under the base. The floor of this old house is not level. I string lined the bottom and using ripped 2x4's I shimmed the bottom of the base 1/2". Then did the same above the stand and under the plank another 1/2". The tank should now be pretty level. I'll hide the base gaps with trim later.

Here is a shot of the mud room behind the tank where the filters will be placed. This room is about 2 1/2 feet lower than the living room so it makes for ideal drainage to the planned wet/dry.

Thanks for the compliments!

The guy I bought the setup from had it custom made by a cabinet maker in his house. Luckily for me it was built to be taken apart and moved.

how big is the foot print?
i'd like to get a 3 sometime in the "near" future. does the tank has cross braces or is it just straight across?

The footprint of the tank is 96" x 30". As for the bracing the tank was made by www.midwestcustomaquariums.com and looks like this picture that I lifted from their site. It is also 3/4" thick versus the normal 1/2" thick. The previous owner wanted the thicker acrylic so that the top openings could be larger than what is shown.

are they out of minnosta becase if they are, i was treated like crap from them

Yes they are, sorry to hear that.

I had some questions for them and they treated me very well even though I was the second owner of the tank. I bought it used but only 6 months old.

And based on the quality of the tank construction and overflows I'd recommend them to anyone.
