nice reef, little cloudy for 3 months old what kind of filtration are you using and do you use carbon

I have a 29gal DIY wet dry and I didn't use any carbon. Should I??? It is not that cloudy at the moment, I took those pis last week.

well carbon does help with toxin and stuff, but if its not cloudy now i quess you dont have 2, i also have a reef tank but it 2.5 gallon lol it only has one coral in it, its a zoa and a yellow tail damsel fish, ill be setting up a 10 gallon soon when i get all the equipment for it and i love that fish what is it called i may want to get one

tank is coming along nicely,

on your filtration, do you have a refugium setup in there, as in cheato and other types of macro alage?? Your tank is probably not as cloudy as one is thinking, a lot can impare that. Few particles in the tank, which are no big deal will cause a slight haze, and algae on the glass, even though we dont see it, will impare the visuals of the tank. My suggestion is to do some massive water changes, just to ensure that your water is free of any chemical imbalance and focus on your filtration. Fine woven floss will help get rid of the floatin particles in there. Its also going to help if you keep the overflow box as clean as possible, this will increase flow rate and also ensure your getting most, if not all of the particles.

Yes I do have a refugium I put 2 packs of live copepods in there so my Mandarin will have some food in the tank. Hopfuly he will start taking other food later.
