Hey Guys ,
thought I would share a vid of my $500 Craigslist deal make -over. Did all the work over the past 8 days. Well the tank is a deep sea aquatics 185 show. First thing I did was to raise up the stand by adding 4 sheets of 3/4 inch plywood. Needed to do this to raise up the tank to be level with my couch. Tank is setup up for double side viewing as kinda a room divider from the dining room kitchen area. Came with a canopy so I had to in close the back of the canopy to match the front.Canopy was really kinda plain so I added trim ,all so to the bottom of the stand. Since the tank was not drilled and I did not to wait or have the expense
of it having it drilled. I decided to hard plumb an fx-5 threw the side of the stand door. Really think it turned out well, gots that modern industral look I think.
Lighting is LEDs from Excotica, two 19 watts with the colors of the rainbow with a flick of the remote. Let me tell you this is bad a** to say the least. Lites are mounted in the canopy.
Aquascaping is 100#s of pool filter sand 20 grain, two massive logs mounted to slabs of heavy slate, found these in my back yard. Most likely really old cedar stumps, I soaked them for a week. No coloring of the water so far after 4 days so I think I am good to go.
Occupants two Argentae, not sure if their going to be a pair and act right as of now.
