For the filtration on my 55 i have 3 ac 200 filters. Is that enough.the water is crystal clear.Or should i add a canister to that to.......im happy that it equals 600gph:headbang2

and all filters are turned up all the way at all times...

Thats a lot of mechanical filtration but not a lot of biofiltration, IMO. I think you should add a sponge filter as well for biofiltration. Or do a ChileRelleno mod

:iagree:

What are your water parameters? If amonia = 0 and nitrites = 0 then ya know your good.
If your nitrates are above 40ppm well then thats nothing to do with your filters ya just need a water change.:naughty:

thats plenty filtration for an average stocked 55g i've always removed the carbon and replaced with filter floss and you dont have to have them cranked up the more time the water is contact with the media the better.
on a side note test your paramiters if all is good dont change anything.

i have two ac 500's on my 55g.what you do is take filter floss and put it under the foam blocks.that would take care of the mechanical part[which works like crazy]and the block itself would be bio support along with the ceramic rings.
