Oregon, it's part of 'Murica!
Sigh, one of my new purchases a couple weeks back came with a little present and through some accidental cross contamination all 3 of my tank are infected. So everyone who showed signs of ick got moved to the 55 in the living which is being treated with CopperSafe.

The hospital tank has:
3 Blood Parrots
1 Kirin Parrot
2 Shortbody Flowerhorns (including the new one)

The 75 in my room which normally houses my 2 larger parrots and my oscar seems empty with just my oscar who hasn't seemed to catch it.

The 55 in my room has my female parrot and male shortbody flowerhorn who aren't showing signs thankfully.

Hopefully I won't have an outbreak in those 2 tanks so I don't have to treat them. I am doing daily 10 gallon change and gravel vac and every other day in the hospital tank. I hate ich!:irked:

The pics are of my "hospital" tank

Yo those are great, I wish I walked into a store and found a few sh fh like that! Good luck, Im sure they will all be fine! Just keep your eye on them!

Coppersafe = Death.
I just went on a rant about that stuff, I hate it. Its highly toxic.

I would suggest 30% WC and add some new active carbon to remove the rest. Then another 30% tomorrow.

Salt and heat are all you need to effectively treat white spot. No need for harsh toxic chemicals when a mild salt bath will have the parasites dead in a weak.

* You will need to treat both tanks too. If a fish with ick was in a tank, there are ick eggs present in that tank. Easier to treat now befor another breakout occurs. Ick is HIGHLY contagious.

I have treated with coppersafe in the past and never had problems except it killed my pictus which I knew it might. I have never been able to treat it with salt, how much am I supposed to put in?

Aquarium salt is recommended, but Mortons will work fine. Its like $.99 for a tub of it.

Gravel vac to get any eggs you can. Do water change. Heat and Salt is a 2 process attack. With just heat they will mulitply like crazy and just salt wont help too much. Heat brings them into there free swimming state where they can be killed by the salts.

Dosage: Tank temp 85. 1 TBS per 5gal. Measure correctly because this formula is proven to be effective. I have never lost a fish using salts, but cant say the same for some of the meds on the market.

I have done this and it never seemed to work but I will try again. The tank in the living room being treated I can't get up past 82F because the living room gets cold at night so its always at around 82F. The ones in my room on the other hand stay around 85-86F.

I'll keep as much of the coppersafe in the hospital tank and treat along side with salt because its almost gone on the heavier cases. The other tanks I will just do salt since I don't see any ich.

I need to fix that 130 gallon.
