OK, so i have a 55g freshwater tank and I've had it for a while, but I wanted to bring in some new additions to the aquarium, currently i have:

3 common pleco's :D
2 angelfish
2 paradise fish
1 blue gourami
1 rainbow shark

That's it for now, and i was thinking of new additions, maybe building it up with similar species or maybe getting new and different types to give the tank variety. ideas?

i know I'm not going to get anymore paradise fish for it though because currently I'm guessing both of mine are males because they are territorial and sometimes fight, currently looking for a solution with it, possibly selling it or giving it to a friend.

Replace the common plecos with otos, bristlenose plecos or clown plecos. A few other options would be Sturisoma panamense, Rineloricaria parva and L010a. Sell the paradise fish and blue gourami. Replace them with pearl gouramis or more angels to total 5-6 young angels. Once they pair off, you can either separate the rest or the breeding pair if you want to start breeding them.

Replace rainbow shark with Siamese algae eaters. Don't confuse the SAE with CAE and flying fox. More information can be found here.

Keep this:
2 paradise fish
1 blue gourami
1 rainbow shark

Replace this:
3 common pleco's
2 angelfish

Buy this:
10 Kuhlii loaches
1 snakeskin gourami
3 garra flavatra

i agree on the tetra's, i really enjoy seeing the schools of fish swimming around together, it look really cool.

this was probably my first thread started on this site long ago, and i ran across it today,

my stock now in the 55
3 longfin albino bristlenose plecos, 1 Lg common pleco, 1 angel, 3 clown loaches, 1 gourami.

right now its in a transition phase because i bought 75 and set up the 45 and im planning it out which fish will end up where. also had an unexpected pair of angels which i moved out too.
