i dont think the ornates get 9". are you sure the 9" ones you have seen were ornates? she is in an extra large critter keeper. there is no heat because my room is about 75 which is fine for them. she is only in water, about as hish as her mouth, no deeper. i like wet paper towels. everything else i have used has some sort of downside and i have never lost one while on wet paper towels. she doesnt get them because she just pushes them to the other end of the tank and wont use them now that she is bigger. its not too small because i tried the large reptile ranch critter keepers, and she would still just sit in one corner, as most pacmans do.
i actually dont have any pics of feeding time, and she wont take small rats anymore. it isnt much, she grabs them by the head and (usually) waits until they stop moving, then swallows.
