My 6 pcs Silver Comm, not so well

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
1. Well, right off the bat I notice a problem. Your arowana are young...and very timid. Your tank seems to be in the middle of a room and not against a wall. There is a refrigerator there...so that is the kitchen. HEAVY TRAFFIC AREA.
Recommendation would be to cover the kitchen side with a curtain or something to provide added security for them. Dim the lights some as well inside the tank. Do this for a couple months until they grow in size and slowly begin removing raising the curtain over time until it is no longer needed, reducing the shock of the "incoming predators" their insticts are telling them. This could take a few weeks to do it correctly.
2. Check water parameters and ensure they are normal. Torn fins can be caused by poor water, and just because it is clear does not mean the water is at healthy levels.
Recommendation would be monitor daily and take measures to keep water from reaching high levels.
3. If they do not stop attacking each other...I recommend finding them new homes. It is not worth their misery to have a "community tank" if it is not working out. I do not think they are attacking each other. I beleive they are slamming against the glass and top of the aquarium. The injured barbells is a good sign of this.

Good luck!

They are in a 55 gallon atm waiting a bit to get them in a 180 or more.
Most the damage is from fights that I have seen but they do seem to be rubbing against the glass a lot. The water parameters are good, the damage to the barbel is actually from a gold gouramis thinking its food, it was kinda funny seeing it not let go. Thanks for the advice, will put up something A.S.A.P, they are actually pretty calm surprisingly. I can hand feed and pet most of them or they just think my fingers are food.

thats your problem!

you should have them in the 180 allready!!
