Hi everyone,
My name is Dee, 1st time here and I need some reinsurance about my 6" SR. I quess it jumped out the 2nd night I had it and lost about 15-20 scales between both sides and not to mention almost half of the anal fin broken off. Good thing I heard it flopping behind the tank! Any suggestions on how I should take care of it? As of now, I've added salt, stress goat, and I have turned the temp up to 30c. If anyone have any suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated! thank you for taking the time to read this.

To speed up recovery, you could add Vitachem.

Also make sure you provide him with clean and pristine water and it should grow back...

Thanks for replying awesome! Yeah I just did a wc yesterday 25% and will do so twice a wk. Thank you for your quick reply! And I will definitely give the vidachem a try first thing tomorrow! Thank you so much!

Fin will grow back and so will the scales but it will take time. One of my RTG's mistook my finger for food and when I pulled my hand back the aro came with it as he bite my finger. The aro landed on the ground and lost his whole anal fin. Grew back just like new!

Really wow, that must of been frightening for the both of you! I am very glad that your finger grew back. Just playin! Thanks for the info and some reinsurance about my fish! You guys are awesome! I honestly thought he it was gonna die, it finally took some food early today but I had to it feed crickets. It seem to move around more since I upped the temp to 30c. Before it would only stay At the top corner or the tank and would not move. Poor guy I've only had him for exactly a wk! Thank again in advance!

+1 to this and soak his food too, otherwise the steps you mentioned are just about all you can do for him

Sometimes the fins won't grow back perfect. In order to fix it you can sedate the fish and cut off the damaged portions. You can see it in this guy's tail. It got chewed off due to fighting with another aro.The back portion never grew back straight. I like the character of it so I never did the surgery. Scales take 2-4 months to grow back. It depends on the water quality. Everything you've done so far is correct. You could add aloe juice and/or ketapang leaves too. I've used that to fix chipped scales but the most important is stable and clean water.IMG_1072.jpg
