Petrie(brisbane north)
hey guys first time posting i have a 6x2x2 and on 1 end im thinking my fluval FX5 intake and output and at the other end i have both of my 1200LPH powerheads so all the dirt gunk poo and excess food gets pushed towards the intake

any suggestions to make it work better? its for cichlids

I would go with the inlet in the middle and a DIY splitter to split the output to both ends of the tank, blowing towards the middle

If I had a FX5 and (2) 1,200LPH power heads I would have the FX5 intake in the middle of the tank and a powerhead at each end blowing towards the middle.. With that though I would also do a DIY spray bar for the FX5 for turbulence-sake. How many and what kind of cichlids you planing to keep? What kinda substrate? decor? plants maybe?

my tank(once re set up) will contain 2 gold saum(green terrors) 2 festae(red terrors) 2 devils\midas 4 convicts(2 albino and 2 regular) with a goldspot pleco and some form of bottom feeder catfish and 1 silver saum green terror but everyones saying just get one of each and take out the festaes cos there "evil"

on an atlantis setup( big pillars) a posidoen statue all that stuff :D

or a battlefeild setup( a helicopter and another aircraft that have been destroyed BIG ornaments and lots of hidey holes ect)

either setup will have slate caves few caves at each part of the tank left middle right of the tank>> l^l^l^l-----l^l^l^l-----l^l^l^l << will also be adequate hiding places for the smaller fish(convicts devils terrors ect from the festae and jag) i know there will be a fair few aggression issues thats why ill make sure its hidey hole central

also to keep there minds off fighting ill have 200 red cherry shrimp in there im getting off my mate mark and they will have roughly a month or so to keep re-producing before i move in all the cichlids :D
