My ac110 eats fish

My filter has sucked up 5 neons and 3 silver dollars. They get stuck on the intake and die before I can free them. I have the ac on its slowest setting. I need to put some panty hose or something on there but I think it would still suck em up.

if they're weak enough to get stuck there they were probably fixin to die anyways . I've had plenty of tetras and sd's and the only ones that ever got stuck on the ac110 intake were the dead ones ... i don't slow the flow at all either .
