My Achara Cats

These are my achara cats. They are about 3" and 4" in length and are already getting hand fed.

This is such a great species. I have had several and really enjoyed owning them. Despite having an explosive growth rate they were not bullies or predatory of other fish in the tank. Just eating machines with a good disposition! Enjoy your duo!

THEY ARE EATING MACHINES. I LOVE IT. I DO HAVE A RTCXTSN HYBRID THAT IS A BULLY AND PREDATORY THOUGH. HES JUST 6" AND ALREADY KILLED 2 OF MY FISH. PROBABLY GOING TO PUT HIM IN HIS OWN TANK SOON

Shovels were always the killers in my tanks. So sleek and cool but demolishers of absolutely anything I cohabed them with that could remotely fit in their mouths. The acharas = infinitely more laid back, jumbo barbels, cool patterns, no stalking of tankmates. Mine just grew SUPER fast. Have fun with these guys I know I did!

Cute. As they grow they may squabble with their kin over territory. May be sex-dependent too, IDK.

Their closest kin L. pictus, vehemently defend their territories from other pictus and also, perhaps to a lesser degree, from marmoratus.
