I find the 10" albino crashing around the tank and not long after it died. I didn't know what coz the dead until I saw some teeth marks on it's head. The only other fish that is bigger than him is a 15" Endi. Both were housed together for quite sometime and this happen all in a sudden. :irked: I thought the size different isn't that off so I never expect this to happen. Oh well, I will know better next time...

ive never seen any aggression between bichirs before.
even when could easily eat the other.
sorry for your loss.

from what I have seen most aggression or defensive bites are delivered either to the tail area or mid back. My Weeksii bit my Ansorgii mid back defending his turf and the Weeksii is at least 3" smaller.
Sorry to hear of your loss.

I'm sorry man, thats terrible. =\

Although it is rare, I've seen it happen between mines. Back when I had a Delhezi, it did alright around my Senegal (They were around the same size). The most the Senegal would do was give it little nips at the tail but one day they were sitting in front of each other and all of a sudden the Senegal practically engulfs the head of the Delhezi! I freaked out, but thankfully it never happened again.

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah, I never expect this to happen. The other 10" Buet is doing fine with the Endi. Maybe the Albino looks more like food? I feed them smelt most of the time ;)
